Review numero uno/ Initial Reaction to Sigma Makeup Brushes

So, I'm Amy. I'm a 19 year old college student from metro Atlanta. I almost always much read at least 10 reviews of a product before I buy it. I figured maybe I could benefit others, too.

I don't buy high end makeup much, simply can't afford it. I do, however, buy a lot of random crap.

Okay, so I want to review Aveeno Baby moisturizer. If you have extremely dry, winter skin, I seriously suggest this lotion. It is simply amazing. It's pretty thick, and you don't need much. Plus the great thing about Aveeno is that you can easily google coupons for it (or look through your Sunday paper). It has no scent, by the way. That's all I can think of for now.

On to my initial reaction to my Sigma Makeup brushes. (I literally just opened them tonight). I ordered the Nice in Pink Travel Set, this is the link- http://www.sigmamakeup.com/products/7015.html.

I got a deal though, like 10 bucks off, a free eyeshadow, and an extra brush. The eyeshadow is a bit dark for my taste, and it's also super glittery. I put a bit of it on my hand and most of the color is already rubbing off (but not the glitter of course!) It's in the color Indian girl and it is a charcoal mixed with purple and silver glitter.

The brushes though... so far, not TOO impressed, but not super disappointed.

I will say my two initial faves are the SS168 (which I am shocked about) and the SS217.
Both of them are SO soft, the SS168, which is an angled blush brush, really surprised me. I am in love with it and I've had it for an hour haha. The 217 is soft also and a perfect size for blending out colors in the crease. I can't wait to use them.

The rest of the brushes leave a lot to be desired. The powder brush (150) is tiny and has already shed 10+ hairs, plus it sort of smells (you're supposed to wash them before using them, that should be entertaining...)

The duo fibre stippling brush is pretty much the reason I bought the set, to be honest (plus the deal of course). And it is SO disappointing. It's tiny, it's super soft if you brush it back and forth but not if you stipple (which is retarded since that's the point of the brush). I will have to update tomorrow to say how it actually works with liquid foundation.

I have nothing to say yet of the rest of the eye brushes and the concealer brush. I mean whatever, they're soft, nothing super special, but they're probably the same quality of MAC and like 40 bucks cheaper haha.

Something I do have to say about these brushes is that they must have been packed incorrectly, because a lot of them have hairs that are turned out and away from the rest of the brush. It annoys my anal personality lol

It also came with the SS190, so I'll use that Saturday before I go out and see how it works.

The bag it came in is cute, but looks like they spray painted cheap leather pink. It's very compact since it's a travel set and smells like new shoes hahaha

I hope to save up my money and buy the entire pink set in the fall, or something that it goes on sale. 89 bucks plus shipping is a lot!

I have some stuff coming in from Sephora soon (Cargo's stuff is half off, hell yeah!!!) and I'll review that.

I also bought things from drugstore.com that I look forward to reviewing (such as Plus White, Jergens Natural Glow, Aussie stuff, and a face primer).

I use parentheses a lot hahah sorry.

Although I doubt that anyone will read this, maybe a few will and it'll help them shop!

-Amy
